Bringing Science To Perl

  • The Science Perl Committee exists to organize and promote science projects within the global Perl community.
  • The committee is governed by democratically-elected leadership, and all major decisions are decided by the vote of committee members.
  • Committee meetings have openly-available agendas and minutes for the public record.
  • Perl community members are invited to apply for membership in the committee.
  • Meetings are held every other Thursday from 1:00pm to 1:45pm central time zone. The first meeting date of 2024 is 1/11.
  • Hackathons are held every 6 weeks on the Wednesday night before a meeting from 7:00pm to 9:00pm central time zone (unless otherwise stated). Science Perl Hackathon dates for 2024 are 1/24, 3/6, 4/17, 5/29, 7/10, 8/21, 10/2, 11/13, and 12/25.
  • The goal is to have major ongoing Science Perl accomplishments by our committee.

STEM at The Perl Conference

  • The new track will focus on academic papers and posters in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math.

  • Interested parties are invited to submit an abstract.

  • Abstracts are due by April 5th, and final papers or posters are due by May 15th.

  • The goal is to create high-quality science presentations for Perl.

The Proceedings of the Science Perl Track

  • All papers and posters which successfully pass through our formal peer-review process are automatically published in the Science Perl Journal.

  • This includes 100% of the presentations given during the Science Perl Track.

  • Journal issues will be available for free online, and printed copies will also be available for purchase.

  • Authors retain their copyright ownership and receive academic publication credits.

  • The goal is to create high-quality science publications for Perl.
